What Makes This Place Worth Calling Our Home [group effort]

lyrics

We've had our share of dark days
when every breath seemed harsher than the last
Trying to carry the world by our own strength
Gamble with the future
sacrifice the past

We always ran
from the obvious answers
and turned a cold shoulder to the warmest of hearts
ignoring their acts
ignoring the fact
that only when the pain fades
will the healing start

But when we let go
of our pride
and let the bitterness inside our eyes die
we found the will to repay
all of the debts we'd raised
and let passion lead
instead of aimless hate

We fought too many battles,
and embraced the pain of the weight all on our own
but finding friends that counteract the stumbles
is what makes this place worth calling our home
